15 years after Nekhbet, one of the missions bundled in the Sci-Fi Sim of the Year edition of FreeSpace 2, I have returned with a new mission in development. :D
Incision is a single mission with full voice acting which is compatible with both FSOpen and retail FreeSpace 2.
The story takes place after the events of FreeSpace 2. The remnants of the Neo-Terran Front have become increasingly radicalized, which has resulted in a disturbing new development: targeting medical facilities and vessels. Alpha and Beta Wings are tasked with defending the Maia Installation, an infirmary on the edge of Aldebaran, whose archaic weapon systems make it especially vulnerable to attack.
Naturally, things do not go according to plan...
I am currently seeking testers for both FSOpen and retail FreeSpace 2 to evaluate gameplay balance on various difficulties for a TBD beta test. Please PM me and/or reply to this thread if you are interested in participating, with notes on your pilot experience and preferred difficulty settings!

Looking forward to this. :)
Not sure whether I'll have time to beta test, but heck, sign me up anyway. :nervous:

Like the Nekhbet, this is very good mission,a bit hard to protect Kappa 1,but still had much fun playing it.I hope there'll be a sequel.

All in all, a solid retail-style mission.
Piece of cake in a Herc with Trebs/Tornado spam.
I destroyed the Avarice, completed the rest of the objectives, but never got a RTB.
I never expected to have to disable anything, so I stripped the Akheton SDGs from my loadout. A bit late now, but maybe cue the player in that they might need to disable enemy craft in this mission, so they know why they have the SDGs?
Still, a fun little mission.

That appears to be a total oversight. I know the intent was to end the mission and cause warp-outs if the Avarice was destroyed before being disabled, but I guess in the protracted development time, that scripting fell through the cracks. Add that one to the list of "stuff to fix if there is a 1.1." :D
