ask them for permission to use those models - they're all VERY game-acceptable polycounts
-
Way ahead of you there. ;)
The problem isn't the models, it's getting someone to convert them from MAX to POF.
-
max to cob to pof
-
*nudges Kazan to make a MAX2POF*
And I don't think MAX outputs to cob.

Um...max to 3ds to cob to pof? O_o;
-
im unfamiliar with the 3ds or max formats and therefor i am unqualified to write conversion utilities for those formats
i did leave a nice plugin API for people to write conversion plugins for PCS
-
btw, I know it's old news, but there's a "new" WC in production:
prophecy on GBA ( in 3D, mapped, all, yes ). w/o the video cutscenes obviously

(note - contains 3 RAR compressed files)
3d exploration 1.5.3 (the one that still works after 30 days, but with a nag box and limit of 1 save / render per 'run').
Converts any viewable format (inc MAX) to cob...
-
Yes...... but they still have to go from cob to pof. Which is the long part.

Not if they're set up wi' maps....the longest bit is texturing them. Only takes 1-2 hours to polyreduce the lods, then slap em up with a few booleans in TS for debris, and Bob's yer fathers brother.
IMO.
-
btw if i'm not wrong most of these models are simply ripped from wcprophecy, only a few are "new" (the models of the older games)

A couple hours as compared to a minute in 3dex...... sounds like it's the long part to me. ;)

yes most of those models are direct rips which means they're perfect cannon
