Title: A sign of the times, perhaps?
Post by: Styxx on July 24, 2002, 02:43:29 pm
Is human stupidity reaching a whole new level? We had this joke for a long time among programmers and CS students, but getting to this point is pretty lame. I present, a question from the Compaq Frequently Asked Questions:

Yeah, I've heard that joke, too.

I'm hoping it's just a very literal-minded customer support group.

I actually ran into trouble with that... Like seven years ago, when you were at Fabrício setting up the first Duke Nukem modem game and left me here to check if everything was going well. After a couple of seconds I just hit the space bar and prayed not to screw up. Fortunately, it worked! :D

I think it's nice that Compaq is now catering for the most retarded computer users. :D

But phew, all this computer work is exhausting. I'm ready for my TAB. Hey, no time for that, the computer's starting!

:D

EDIT: Ah, my wonderful visual gag, ruined by the forums eliminating unnecessary spacing. :o

I've grown tto expect everything from stupid american people.

This is no longer fun. This is lame.

I seriously (SERIOUSLY) hope the asteroid coming in 2018 is going to hit America.

Now, that I've done with american-bashing, I'm gonna sit here and :wtf: for a while.

If america is hit by this large piece of shivan crap everybody on earth is probably gonna die. So maybe you want to reconsider that statement?

If an asteroid is large enough to wipe out the third largest country on the planet, then its going to have a SIGNIFICANT effect on everyone else.

If it takes out a medium sized city, sure its going to be a big deal but its not going to be a massive world wide problem.  It will alter the climate...but maybe only as much as a large scale volcanoe eruption.

I figure, if we know about it now...if we determine that Earth may be in danger...we have enough time to build something that will help us out.  Alter its course, make it smaller by throwing nukes at it, or build a kinetic weapon and try and do both.

Odds are, if an asteroid hits Earth, it'll loand right on top_of_me.

On the plus side, if it hits Glasgow, no-one will really notice any difference. :D

If it's a danger, they'll just nuke it.  Unless a global no-nuke treaty is signed in the next few years.........

Surely the safest, most useful place for all those nukes is embedded in a vicious-looking asteroid. :)
