Cause, why not? Let's start with this one...

-
I like where this is going.
-
wut...
Wow, this is unexpected, and very cool. :)
-
‚My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!‘
I admit, I never even managed to beat the first mission of BtA :)
-
Damn, that's one tall Vasudan (or the GTA is hiring short humans now)
-
Typical humans, undressing their prisoners for interrogation. The perverts...
-
Who is that Vasudan? HoL member, PVN or both?
-
oh christ, like the pheropods weren't bad enough...
-
Great idea with this scene. However:
-prisoner's legs are free. If I were that Vasudan I would consider kicking that officer in the balls if necessary :P
-chains. a bit primitive solution in my opinion. They look thin. I would expect to see some.... handcuffs made of energy or the prisoner levitating in some kind of a force field.
Just 5 cents from me ;)
-
Forcefields?
That doesn't seem very GTA to me.
-
That was just a loose idea :P Just to point that metal chains look a bit primitive.

He looks to be standing just out of range to me. One of the things I like about the shot.
-
The chains are made of ultra-poly tungsten reinforced gobbly-gook. It's impervious to Vasudan feats of strength.

Yes and then there's the super forcefield that you can't see with the naked eye, but trust me, it's there.
And it's made of pure 100% awesomeness and gives off a fragrant lemony smell. :)
-
That looks very medieval-like, the method of keeping a prisoner... I know GTA/GTVA is a bit rusty, but not THAT archaic in my opinion.
I myself, wouldn't say they would keep a prisoner like that, UNLESS they have a very serious reason.
-
Oh come on, just because it's the 23th century, doesn't mean that you can't use CHAINS like that.
CHAINS.
CHAI

OMG

Some of the 'realism' related criticisms have merit, and I did think those through. In the end, I'm far more interested in the story that each choice is telling rather than the scene being futuristically accurate. Some of the ideas that might seem more appropriate for the time period also don't quite tell the same story as clearly or as quickly.
-
They are silly details, don't work yourself too much about them. I am genuinely surprised that you are going through this kind of more cinematic route, I'm really psyched!
-
Real chains are way better than any energy binding whatever. Force fields and all that Star Trek business gives you the opposite of the visceral sense of dehumanization that makes the picture work. Very cool teaser!

I haven't shared anything in a while.. so here's a generic view of a sun.

Admiral Po is flying a fighter?
-
No and... uh.. no. I know what it looks like and it's not that. But that's also going to be changed to a different character anyway, I just hadn't done it yet when I took the screen.
-
In any case, I will be very intrigued to play missions involving the GTI which I was not involved in designing. :)
-
BY THE SEVEN SEAS, that is a cinematic-looking Poseidon.
-
That's a lot of purple IFF
-
MatthTheGeek consistently takes impressive screens, so here's two. More later.

Ugh... why did you have to post that first shot and remind me off how much work I still have to do? :/
/me resolves to install PSP on his laptop so he can work on textures while at work in the evenings.
That said, that last screen in particular makes the gas refinery look spectacularly abandoned. I'm a fan.
-
I can discern some tracer fire standing out against the rings of the saturn-esque planet.
I want to tag that old abandoned refinery.

Those are some nice-looking models. The backgrounds aren't too bad either.

There will likely be spaceship battles in this mod... again, these are taken by Matth.

Also, I remember reading some time ago General Battuta saying (paraphrased) "Generally speaking, the previews that mods show off are literally their only progress." Meaning that some mods post about every little thing they do because they do so little. BtA, however, is nearing completion. Despite our general quietness, we've done a great deal and we're working hard to get things polished up! All but 6 of these missions are finished with active development while those 6 are in varying stages of completion, but actively being developed.

Wait a moment, isn't freespace ABOUT space battles...?

Sometimes. I do joke with Axem about how JAD is all cutscenes. :p

Not sure who is on what side, but I'm not sure I should put money on the Fenris.
-
Always like a good view of an unfinished Arcadia.

Poor Arcadia's not even finished and it's under attack! :(

Life is harsh out in the boonies.
-
Oh, the frustration of engineering. The more things you build, the more jerks that want to blow up your stuff.
