Following on from the Tython Battlecruiser i was and still am working on http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=88321.0 (albeit very slowly and can't figure how to solve a few bugs) I decided to take a break and work on a frigate class of vessel, which i am calling the Halberd. I am really happy with the design and think i have improved with modelling detail etc. Also compared to the Tython i think i have vastly improved with my UVing and Texture work. The only things i am really really struggling with is the Spec/shine map I always struggle to do these correctly. People have suggested crazybump but a lot of people say to avoid it as it doesn't create the best maps.
I also have a sister class which i am still thinking of a name, its the same design but instead of the 2 front heavy cannons embedded in the hull its got extra comm and sensor arrays.
Overall i am happy with how this model is turning out. :)

It reminds me a little of the Warlock from Babylon 5.
The only thing that I am not so sure about with this design is the antennae coming out of the side wings on the ship. My personal opinion is that it does not look quite right... however apart from that, it does look pretty cool!

I really like new hull plating. Good work!

Cheers, yeah I took inspiration from the warlock, the bc304, UEF ships and naval subs/destroyers. As I love those designs. Still feel I can improve my hull plating but as I said I really struggle with the shine maps
