Any chance of going to an AVX build. I know this was talked about over a year ago in this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=85566.0). This survey (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=85616.0) indicates that it could be used by at least half of the people and provides a small performance gain.

As somebody who's been compiling AVX builds, I can assure you that the performance gain is indeed small; as in not really noticeable (and that's after fixing the project file so that it's not still using SSE2 optimizations).
That being said, I think the current plan is to start incorporating them into releases/nightlies some time after 3.7.2 Final.

Back when the initial testing was in progress I saw about a 3% gain. Don't know if that's still true. However, thanks for the information.

Yeah I can't until the official build platform bumps up to something newer, and that won't happen until after 3.7.2.
