Title: [RELEASE] Wepwawet Transport Rebuild

"The Wepwawet is a Vasudan heavy transport, designed to ferry Ambassadors, diplomats and members of the royal court in comfort and safety. Developed in response to the enhanced threat environment in the wake of the Neo-Terran rebellion, the Wepwawet is the fastest and best defended transport ever developed by the Vasudan navy, outclassing its nearest equivalent, the Terran Argo, in almost every respect. Its twin, cruiser class anti-fighter beams and their supporting turrets are capable of repelling basic fighter attacks, and its hull is strong enough to withstand a moderate amount of punishment. However, the Wepwawet is no warship, and remains vulnerable in the event of a concerted attack. Given this, and the significance of the individuals that typically make use of these vessels, they are rarely seen without a sizable fighter escort."

OK, so this project started here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=88814.0) because I thought I could quickly and easily convert Trashman's missile corvette into something a little less martial. In the end, I almost rebuilt it, although the base mesh has remained the same. In some ways I wish I had rebuilt it so that the base mesh could have been higher poly, but oh well.

In a lot of ways, this was a quick and dirty project, but it's not turned out awfully, and it fills a pretty useful niche I reckon. Anyway, hopefully it'll come in handy for someone.

I think it's great.  The zods should've had an ago equivalent by now.  It doesn't make me think of bajor at all.

Something is wrong with smoothing. A lot of smooth edges should be sharp.

Anyway it's awesome. I always knew that this thing needs serious facelift and after smoothing corrections, it will be nice addon to every vasudan fleet

For me, the model itself is nice, but the plating color is not matching the overall vasudan metal plating... it just looks weird for me

I love your models, Black Wolf.  Small form factors, nice minimalist texture use and always filling civilian niches.

I am hoping between BTA and my own mod, people will be much more interested in modelling fewer gigantic warships and more pretty civilian stations/ships.  You are one of the few that does it atm, and I greatly appreciate it :)

Thanks for the feedback people. Will have a look at the smoothing when I get back from work in a few days.

It looks good so far! I would really appreciate having the Missile Corvette variant as well with these fixes since I like the concept and design in it's old form a lot as well. Hope such a thing isn't too much to ask/hope for, of course!

I also hope your work with the Hathor is going well. I always thought there were some interesting possibilities with the design but it definitely needs improvement.

What fixes? AFAIK the missile corvette version worked fine? It's smoothing was also okay to my memory, though it has been a few years since I last looked at the POF.

I remember you worked on getting the model to work properly, which it does. I don't have any POF errors or other issues with the model, so I would say it works fine.
I might not have compared them properly last night when I saw this at first. Having them side-by-side in PCS2 now shows that your version only might have the smallest sharp edges here and there, but nothing egregious.
I do always like to see people take a look at the already existing models and see if anything can be improved, which is where my original comment came in.
