Title: Modeled guns?

So I recently found out primary weapon models can show up on ship models.
Is straight up FS2, FS:P and ST:R with MVPs actually using this feature or just other mods.
I can't say it's something I have actually noticed, bit is something I could at least look for.

No, FSU doesn't use it (and I doubt it ever will). Freespace fighters are all modelled with internal gun and missile bays anyway.
