Please help, I could not get the DLLPAK for VpView32 anywhere, all the links are dead! Why?
Would someone give me a good link, or a hint on how to get it, thanks.

Honestly, I'd rather use one of the more modern VP tools, like VPGUI (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=83920.0) or maja (Which requires java) (http://www.freespacemods.net/download.php?view.67)

Try this version, I'm pretty sure it's the one that works without DLLPAK: http://www.freespacemods.net/download.php?view.635

Hah! Dead links again, except for VPGUI, which I'm reluctant because I'll need to download a 2GB Netframework!

The FSMods link I posted is most certainly not dead.... I used it to install vpview on my laptop a week ago.

VPGUI has some nice features, though, like drag&drop shell integration. If I want to edit a file in a VP, I just double-click the VP file, drag the file into the appropriate folder, and immediately go to town with a text editor.

I'm curious, which version of Windows are you on?

WinXP, anyway, I found a VPMage copy in my old drive which pretty much does the same thing as VPView, all by itself without any need for system files, and it's tiny (85kb).
I like those old style programs, small and powerful. Of course they don't have pretty pictures in them, but who cares!
Thank you all for quick help.

The DLLPAK is included in this collection of the Descent Manager Tools:

This is strange! I tried those links but all return with an error: "Server not found"
Links to other subjects work fine, only to DLLPAK I get the error.
I've tried http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/FAQ/tools.html which list the VPView for download, when I click the link, I get the error: "Failed to execute CGI : Win32 Error Code = 50"
Something wrong?

Did you download dm_tools.zip from the link I posted? It's in there.

My (system) fault ! After a reboot, all those links are working.
I just could'nt understand why I can access web sites, but click on the link return an error "server not found". Corrupted browser or something!
I apologize for wasting your times.

It's quite all right. Glad everything is working for you now. :)
