Title: highlights cycle on new main page broken

Pretty much as the subject say, both autoplay & manual switching of the highlights isn't workin. I think this is probably a Sandwich question? Maybe it was broken by the interview tweaks done recently?

I've confirmed with two other people on #freespace, so it's not just me :)

Confirmed Chrome Version 42.0.2311.135 m - clicking on the highlights anywhere regardless of if it's a hotspot or not triggers the pause/play icon but the highlights doe not change

Moreover, if you go to different page like, messages tab - ancient highlights come to life to show. On forums page its okay.

Also happens on Firefox 37.0.2.
