Great forum you got here. Since this is my first post please be gentle on me. Anyway onto my problem, every FRED2 mission i start is already 2 mins 20 secs into it so most of my early events have already happened. Anyone know why this may be happening or how to fix it.

Got a lot of mods installed? That's almost certainly the cause if you do. Too many ships in the ships table cause that kind of behaviour.
-
Nope i haven't got any MODs installed at the moment

Try the search first. There has been ALOT of posts on this before, even one quite resently. Its a bug, usually caused by minor parse errors in your tables. All you can do for now, is change the value back by editing the mission in a text viewer. reload fred, and hope it dosn't act up again. If it does, go back, change it, reload. You have to change the value to >0, if you try 0, it wont like it.

This is another unexplained mystery of freespace. Its like where the heck did Bosch go? What were those comm-nodes for? And why the hell did the shivans do what they did at the end?
Why does Fred2 do strange things with time delays? :wft: I dunno.
Solution:
#1 uninstall and reinstall fs2 - careful to back up any missions! (a friend of mine did this recently and forgot to backup his campaign... ouch)
#2 Or, edit each .fs2 file with a text editor and remove the offending string (can't remember where it is)

There was a post recently where someone solved the problem by reforming Alpha into another wing and then changing it back. Try a search for player entry delay and you`ll find it.

Thanks for ypur help everyone i got the problem fixed.I just changed the player entery delay in the team loadout editor in fred2 to 1.

Yeah it works for me but maybe you have MODs or something thats stops it working for you.

Yeah I get 3mins into the mission "assualt on Zahadum" I made the alliance jump in beyond the shadow nebula to take the fight to Zahadum! Unfortunately by the time I get in there the fleet has decimated half the Shivans, opps, I mean shadows... And the effect of the SDF-1 taking out 4 or 5 cap ships with one blow is NOT to be missed...;)
