While browsing the Steam Sale, saw this app called FaceRig:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/274920/
tl;dw summary: Using a webcam and one of the included (and custom, if you can manage it) avatars, the program will map your facial motions and expressions onto the 3d avatar. Human, stylized, animal, furry, dragon, and hamburger avatars are all represented, so it seems fairly robust.
So my first thought was to use it to make well-animated head anis! Also! Briefings and cutscenes! Maybe?
The trailer video says you can import custom models, so if they're rigged properly, the app should be able to handle all the animation itself. At least as far as I could tell...

Command as a talking burger sounds appealing.

Oookay, if we get some FS-suitable models, this should be genuinely awesome! No longer will we be shackled by our limited, two-color set of headanis! Making headanis for specific characters, having them emote at appropriate moments, etc.
-
Oh well, as far as im aware, Spoon was making his characters 3D, so thaaaaat would be ideal for him?
On the other side, I vote for the burger command. Galaxy for burger command!

Hey, I actually have this program! It's a neat idea. I'll do a test when I'm home.

Nice info, thanks for sharing, let´s have a look

I'd like it in a garrysmod style plox.

Demooooooooo:
Mouth tracking seems a little laggy, like it needs nice big motions to pick up. Same for eye tracking, but facial features and motion seem really smooth.
