Free the people of Medici from their tyrannical dictator! Drops a statue on pedestrians, blows up a gas station in the middle of town with a bunch collateral casualties, crashes multi-million taxpayer dollars worth fighter into the refinery that probably employs most of the island and then blows up a major bridge with civvies on it. I'm sure those people are super stoked to be getting liberated.

This is the delicious subtext about an American foreign policy game called 'Just Cause'. That's why we're doing it. It's a...just cause. Just cause. We're doing it just cause.

It would be interesting if they actually built the sand box so that your methodology impacted the world. Going in with the level of finesse that makes Liberty Prime look like George C. Marshall would depress the standard of living and make you reviled by the populace. Granted its a game about blowing **** up but realistic consequence would certainly elevate the material.

There are games that have done that, but none...quite in this genre.

Just Cause deliberately has a very cheesy tone which often wanders into satire. Going all gritty and impactful would be a really clunky way of extending its commentary.
