Title: Full Version of Operation: Underground
Post by: Grey Wolf on March 14, 2001, 04:47:00 pm
The full version of the FS1 campaign "Operation: Undergound" is available at GTD Wolf (//"http://www.geocities.com/jdd1617/"), the homepage of the campaign.  I've tried to post this at HLP and FSWatch, but it didn't go up.

Hey! Fantastic! I'm sorry I can't post this news as I am at work right now, and the news script is at home. Grrr.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)

But this is great news! Well done, Wolf!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Thanks for the compliment. Coming from you that's a pretty high honor.

[Man I was stupid back then, and look at the difference in less than a month!]

I don't know about high honours and stuff, but I am just speaking my mind. In fact, I wish I could play it here at work, but I'm running a Unix system. Oh well.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

In fact, I've been waiting for this one for a while. I kept FS1 installed just for it  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

You have? Cool. If you read the readme for the campaign it mentions that it requires the GTCD Polaris and USTAC Millenium mods. I forgot to write that it includes those mods and a ships.tbl for all the extra ships I'm using.

You can always amend the readme and re-upload it. Or you could put it on your front page or something.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Too bad I cannot play FreeSpace here in the office. Stupid computer with Pentium Celeron 450 with only a lousy 64 MB RAM

Since I've had over 200 hits since I uploaded it and then they stopped coming, I guess everyone downloaded it. What did you think of it? How did you like the last mission? And in case you haven't figured it out yet, I put you in the Valkyrie for a reason.

What did you think of the campaign, JarC? (If any of you are wondering why it seems incomplete, I'll tell you why: It's a marketing ploy! Muhahahahahahahahahahaha  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/devil.gif) !)

There's something weong with the campaign file. It worked before I uploaded it . . . Oh well. I should have a patch and an update ready tommorow. If it's not up then you're going to have to wait about a week because all of my files for FS and GTD Wolf are here on my desktop, I have no laptop, and I'm going on vacation.

I've gotten the patch up. I'd put up the full version too, but  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/devil.gif)Geocities (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/devil.gif) isn't letting my FTP software log on and I'm not using there upload software to upload 1.74 MB!

Email it to me and I will upload it to HLP.

I mailed you the patch. Also, you screwed up the link. You added www.3dap.com/hlp ("http://www.3dap.com/hlp")  to the beginning of both adresses and forgot the .zip extension on the link directly to the download!

No matter whut I try, I can't open the campaign file in FRED (doesn't recognize it) and FS keeps choking on it with a parse error (this is the updated 1.1)...

I don't have the slightest idea what's going on! Can someone with more FRED experience than me take a look at it in notepad? I fixed it and it worked until I uploaded it . . . Do you think Geocities is corrupting the file? Or maybe WinZip?
