Installer does not download ANY of the MediaVP's nor fs2 or fs port.
.... please help!
-
There's a \logs folder where you ran fsoinstaller.jar from. Zip that up and attach it.
-
there

Indeed, the logs say some files didn't download. Maybe try again now that it's been a day, and if it still does it, someone might have to fix something I'm guessing.
-
No, doesnt work.
Maybe the files were moved/renamed on the server?
-
You could try manually downloading the files mentioned in the logs -- if you can't, then you may have a problem either 1) at the server hosting the files, 2) at your ISP blocking those servers (!) 3) on your computer blocking those servers (!).
You could try using Google DNS, they look up host names faster and are smarter about blocking potentially harmful hosts (I've seen ISPs block hosts based on old or outdated info... either that, or they didn't like the host. Switching to Google DNS fixed the problem.) Google DNS also resolves names much faster, lessening the time before websites (and file downloads) load.

im using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 already, and barely beleive its blocking issue, everything else Downloaded without a problem
And It seems I cant find downloads for 3.6.14 for FSO and FSU
-
Hmm. I tested the Installer, but I already have a lot of the files, so it probably just verified I had them and didn't download them. Let me try testing manually.
-
...well, i would be just as much gratefull if you just provide me links to topics/downloads for 3.6.14 for FSO and FSU
-
You don't want FSO 3.6.14 (it's very, very old) and there was no 3.6.14 MediaVPs. There's just 3.6.12 and 2014.

14, 12... well...
Never had good memory. .12 it is then

But 2014 is newer and better.

MediaVPs (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=86475.0) <-- that's the release thread for 2014, .10 and .12 are linked to in the top of the post. You may want to also install .12 (and less possibly, .10) for compatibility with older mods, but usually you can just modify the older mods' mod.ini file to point to the newer (2014) MVPs make sure you put the MVPs (and any other mod) in the recommended folder, as it makes troubleshooting problems much easier (and if you don't, you have to mod any other mods that depend on that mod to point to your custom folder).
FS Port (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=89121.0) (FS1 port to FS2)
3.7.2 FSO .exe (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=89597.0)
wxLauncher (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=67950.0)

But not all mods work with it
Thanks for the rest of pointers. I have everything else besides Mediavps
-
I get back on that.
All mirrors on .12 are dead

Do you have any specific examples of mods that won't work if they're pointed at the 2014 MediaVPs instead? Knowing which ones they are might get somebody to update them.

Alright im just lazy and doesnt want to fiddle with things, and want to get it too TBH. only .12 FSO is lacking for me
-
Just change the reference to the .12 MVPs to 2014 MVPs in the mod.ini file in the mod's root directory.

Alright alright. I know how it works. Topic for closure?
