Title: Frame buffer explosions are awesome. Framebuffer thrusters lick donkeys
Post by: General Battuta on November 18, 2015, 02:15:46 pm
Framebuffer shockwaves look great!

Framebuffer thrusters look quite dodgy. Especially on large ships, they oscillate too fast to really sell a sense of power, and the way they meet the model itself is glaringly 2D. Could we get those split into separate launcher options, and maybe (in the long run, coders have plenty to do) get some kind of per-thruster control in ships.tbl?

I personally like them
But I agree that more fine tuning options for these would be much welcome!

I think Framebuffer thrusters look nice up close, but ugly at a distance.

Framebuffer Thrusters can be implemented as a sprite emitter instead of being drawn to a poly. The only issue is that few people at HLP would know how to implement this.

I also dislike framebuffer thrusters, and I'd love to have a launcher option to disable them.
