Hi guys,
First post!
I looked a few pages deep into the forums and I read the FAQ quickly but I didnt see anything that described this bug im having when loading the game through wxlauncher with a mod. There's countless of them:
game_settings.tbl(line 12):
Error: Missing required token: [#END]. Found [$Briefing Window FOV: 0.5] instead.
ntdll.dll! NtWaitForSingleObject + 12 bytes
KERNELBASE.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
game_settings.tbl(line 13):
Error: Missing required token: [#END]. Found [$Shield Pain Flash Factor: -1] instead.
ntdll.dll! NtWaitForSingleObject + 12 bytes
KERNELBASE.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
axmsg-sct.tbm(line 431):
Error: Missing required token: [#End]. Found [$On HUD Message Received:] instead.
ntdll.dll! NtWaitForSingleObject + 12 bytes
KERNELBASE.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_7_2_RC3_SSE.exe! <no symbol>
ect ect... all dealing with required missing tokens.
When i load the game through wxlauncher with out any mods I still get the really lofi textures and I suspect all graphical enhancements come with the mods being loaded. As a newbie i figured blue planet was a good mod to start with.
I got the game from GOG, moved everything to C:games/freespace2. Copied over the FreeSpaceOpen engine (i've tried all versions of the latest release SSE/No SSE/ect) ran the FSOinstaller which installs MOST items, a lot of the mods give me the red fault dot.
I ran the reg program too.
I'm not exactly sure what else I should do. Is there another check list of items/flags/work arounds I should be going over? It FSO really this unwieldy for new comers?

Easy fix! Just grab the build linked in the Blue Planet release thread, extract it to your FreeSpace 2 folder, select it in the launcher, and enjoy!
These errors are caused by using an older version of the FreeSpace Open engine that can't handle Blue Planet.

Ideally, the launcher would also install the correct build to play the mods you've downloaded — maybe we can work on a solution for that.
Here's the link you want: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=90802.msg1801522#msg1801522

I will download the proper build to use! Thanks for the hint!

...How did you end up with 3.7.2 RC3 from the installer? :wtf:
