Robert Loggia passed away today at the age of 85. We know him as Admiral Petrarch, and probably also from Independence Day and Big, but he had a long and distinguished career in a large number of movies and television shows (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005162/).
This is Admiral Petrarch, signing off.

Damn, a sad piece of news indeed. :(
RIP Petrarch.

D: Oh no!! Poor Robert Loggia... Such a great actor, wonderful voice. He'll always be a part of FreeSpace.
-
I was actually checking his IMDb page a couple of days ago when I was looking up voice actors for Freespace 2. Farewell Admiral Petrarch.
-
Damn...I had no idea he'd had Alzheimer's over the past few years. Goodbye Admiral/General. :(
-
That's very sad to hear. Goodbye Admiral.
-

I'm going to read a book.

..... I honestly thought he was already dead. :nervous:
-
I expect a ship named after Loggia or his FS2 alter-ego in the next BP release. :)

"From our odyssey into Hell, we have returned with a gift. The Ancient technology to build a portal between Delta Serpentis and Sol. To restore the link to our blue planet. To return home after all these years."
I still get chills hearing that.
-
Well. All I can say about his life is "good job!".
Happy Eternity...
