Title: Windows Update KB 3135445
Post by: CT27 on February 04, 2016, 01:25:58 pm
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3135445

Has anyone downloaded this update yet and what exactly does it do?

Some have said it's a harmless update to the Windows Update service, but some have said it's nagware for Windows 10 essentially.

It's listed as "optional" so I don't think I'll download unless I get can more concrete info. I wish Microsoft would say what "improvements" this offers to Windows 7 users.

As a general rule, Microsoft is very vague with the Windows 10 nagware updates.  Contrast that Knowledge Base article with this one, which is also about an update in the Optional Update section:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3112148

I'm not planning to install 3135445 myself.

When Microsoft has an update that "contains some improvements to Windows Update" why can't it actually say what these improvements are?

Because they want to trick you into installing their nagware for their adware.
