Intro works alright but the game crashes at the 2nd loading screen.

For some reason this pops up. Id really like to play so if someone knows how to fix that I'd be grateful.
Installed it via the auto installer. Complete settings because I wanted the additionnal mods. (Cant get enough space sim action!)

Looks like yo're using an old build.
You need to grab a nightly one from here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=173.0
Download one for your OS, extract them to your install directory and change the launcher to use the new executable.

Well I did try to but I seem totally unable to download them. Any link I try there ends up 404

Well I guess ill head off to play Xwing alliance until somebody can help... kinda wasted 3 hours tring to fix it.
Ill come check back tommorow.

I tried that release. I also tried removing the file. I'll try the third suggestion but to be fair ill try doing a manual install first. We never know... maybe my computer dosent like the installer. After all the installer is in java. Maybe the security on my computer interfere with it.

It's not just you; I am getting 404s on all the nightlies also.

It worked. Something was definatly interfering with the java installer.
In case somebody else have a similar issue. Try doing a manual install.
Im using windows 10 64bits.
Avast! is the anti virus I use.
