Seriously. The light coming through the dusk clouds is quite literally red. Mmm, I love pollution.
-
At least it's not pure white and doesn't burn your retinas and skin out/off.
-
Vancouver?
Sorry about screwing up your atmosphere.
-
It does give the area around my front windows a very wholesome red coloring though.... like someone's opening the world's largest portal to hell or something.
-
*flashbacks to the original Diablo*
"In other news, the world's largest portal to hell has opened in Vancouver, neatly topping the second largest contender, the Epcot Center, by 200 square feet."

Damn longitude and lattitude. Longitude is up-down, right?
-
HOLY ****! Shivans are attacking Vancouver!!!!
-
We're better off without them
-
A) No swearing... remember!?
B) What are you smoking Shrike :D
-
Really, I think is a "HOLY ****!" moment [/sarcasm]
-
Yup, I'll remember where I was when the shrike said that, one of the biggest moments of my life

Really? Why?
-
It's just such a huge statement, one that requires a reply of "HOLY ****!" so it has to be like, uber-important, like the jfk assassination
-
Well, you got it better than me- just smoke of some sort. Smog's a nasty yellow sorta color out here, and you can't breathe in it.
-
Over here it tends to have a greenish glow almost every day. :D
-
Man, you people have the CRAZIEST weather!
-
That's because CP is probably bull****ting you. Never seen a GREEN glow, unless he's to the far North and talking about the aurora. Which, in my opinion, gets beat out by acid rain.:D
Mmm, the East coast. And to think, all my parents' friends who moved to the southwest still think New Jersey is the only place this ****ed up.
-
Seriously, it is a greenish color every now and then around here, mostly in the winter for some reason. Not like a bright lime green, but a faint sea greenish color that is definitely still brighter than your usual dark blue sky. Also, this is only visible in the nighttime; in the daytime, it looks quite normal.
Speaking of which, I just looked out the window, and it does look slightly red right now. :D
-
Dass th' aurora, hon. Wheah yew livin' at?
-
<---location :D
Aurora? nah, I have never seen an aurora effect in my life, but I have heard that it is more like a shifting glow effect with varying glow intensities, whereas this is more of a constant faintly green sky.

I'm trying to remember when I said that.....

After reading this thread I have come to the point that Canada is a scary place. I've seen red sunsets, thats pretty normal...if it glows white or green, then you can feel free to start yelling HOLY SH*T.
OT-I CLAIM THIS AS MY 600th POST!! Yeeeee!!
-
If the sky starts going bright white, that's called a hard rain. Ducking and covering is the recommended weather protection.:D
-
Somewhat bright white is pretty common, but that's only in the daytime and there need to be a lot of clouds.
-
Virtu: The reason why is that most of our pollution blows northward with the wind and comes down on Canada as acid rain. However, we have the nukes :D

Quite.
I would ignore CP's colourful weather - his eyes probably aren't quite adjusted to seeing things outside his darkened room, and so he's seeing things that aren't there. :p

no, really...maybe I should take a picture of it or something, but I have to wait until the winter... :p :D
Actually my eyesight is really bad but I don't have trouble with color at least. :D
-
Hmm, a few nights ago the sky was red here too. I saw this red glow coming through the curtains and when I looked out of the window almost the whole sky was glowing red.
Strangeness, I wonder what they're doing down in that nuclear powerplant over there... :nervous:
-
It's the apocalypse, that's all.

Phew, I was actually worried for a while.

Hmm, never seen red sky, except when sun is rising or falling...

* looks out of the window, to a beautifully blue sky *
Okay, okay, it's cloudy today, so what? :D

"Them" who? Vancooverians or Shivans? ;) :D
-
The sky is black here, and its 2 PM. Its occasionally lit up by a bright white flash and a loud bang. I wish I had a deck to sit on... Thunderstorms are great...

Who are these "Squanadians"? What do they want with us? :nervous: :shaking: :D
-
4:24PM here, and the sky is the usual light blue, but I bet it will turn red or green again in the nighttime... :p
-
The only red skies I get here are the ones like the one I just saw: sunset red. :D
-
Seriously. The light coming through the dusk clouds is quite literally red. Mmm, I love pollution.
I'm an hour from Toronto, city of garbage strikes (proving they are the smelliest town in the world :D ) and the sky is bright blue with a few white, fluffy clouds. I'd be outside right now if i hadn't just worked a long weekend out there. and besides, I always thought that 'couver was supposed to be a nice clean, preaty town.
-
I remember standing waiting for a train about a year ago in the early evening. The sky looked like fire; Bright reds, yellows and oranges above the grey platform.
The kind of sight that makes me glad to be alive.
-
Thats Victoria
-
Vancouver is pretty and clean, as long as it's just rained to knock the pollution down.
-
shrike, were you drunk when you started this thread?
-
I guess it's too late to ask for a picture Shrike. If it happens again, I would like to see it.
I remember when we had a big red sky at night. It was the freakiest thing I've ever seen in the sky. (Next to that close encounter I had with an Alien Spacecraft, but that's another story  )

No, but it was unusual enough that I thought I should share.

That was down in Brazil.
Or was it God and his host of angels coming through the clouds? I dunno, but it was damn cool. Ask Styxx.
