Ubisoft's 2nd free game celebrating their 30th anniversary is available.

Okay, it just got more difficult. Unlike Prince of Persia I don't own Splinter Cell. So is it worth putting up with Uplay for?

You don't have to launch it when you're not playing Splinter Cell.
The thing that bugs me most about Origin and Uplay are their less streamlined backup process. I have no complaints regarding their functions for actually downloading and playing games.
As to the game itself, I really enjoyed it back in the day, but I'm not as familiar with other popular stealth franchises like MGS or Assassin's Creed. It was a good first installment, but I think the series really started to shine at Chaos Theory.

The original Splinter Cell is one of the best stealth games ever made. Make of that what you will.

Yeah, Splinter Cell is a must-play, despite the fact that its graphics are limited by today's standards. The second game is excellent too.

Nabbed it, thanks.

Splinter Cell is fantastic. Fortunately I already own it via a few avenues that don't involve UPlay bull****.

It's free. It's linear. It's fun. It's old.
These are all true.
I don't think much of the replayability.
