That's a pretty sweet design. Good job!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

The front and rear turrets, IMHO, need to have their mounting points altered. I mean that they should not have a custom shaped hull plate that they are mounted on, at least not if you want to keep in line with the way  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/v.gif) designed things...

*shrug* I modelled it that way because it looked better that way. There really isn't any reason NOT to have the turrets on fitted mounts, and it makes the ship's lines a lot smoother than they would be otherwise. Following V's design strategies is fine until it'll make my model look uglier =P I admit the turrets arent so great, but they're only temporaries so I could get a preliminary render up. I'll have to redo them anyway when I get to skinning and converting it, but the turret shapes aren't really that important anyway. Its definately true that all the side turrets are too big, but the big flak guns are just about right, I think, compared to the big turrets on a Deimos. They ARE Heavy flak, after all, not the smaller Standard Flak from an Aeolus, so they need bigger turrets.

I think this model looks great! Are you making it to release it to the public or as part of a campaign? I think it looks like a Fenris/Leviathon Mk2 cruiser...

Great Stuff!
