To my knowledge nobody is working on the ASW project, :( but wouldn't it be nice if it was to be voiced?
So I've already done one mission (A-Gauntlet single mission) with briefing voices and voicing the few rearm messages it has in the mission. Pretty simple...
Attached is a zip which can be extracted into the data folder in the Freespace2/ASW1 mod folder. Recommend you backup your ASW1 folder just in case not my fault if you brick the mod :nono:
Run intelligence mission simulator in the game and load A-gauntlet mission
Tell me what you think. Yes the voice is probably crude, but i still want your feedback.
More details:
The Alien voice and overlay are both the voice of my own. See if you can guess what language I'm using haha :D
The software i'm using allows me to add effects in the mixer and allows me to edit the effects and re-output the recording. I can also use other people's normal voices and create the same effects. :o
Again Feedback Good and Bad please! :)
(Edited) - Check lower post for latest file sample.

Jabba the Hu... The Ancient :D?
Adjust each audio channel. The original hutt's voice is too loud, rendering translated audio unhearable. I definitly can say it's interesting :P.

As much as it was interesting, it would be more appropriate to have the vocals in english, since the character in the ASW is also an Ancient :p duh
Give this one a go. I have put 2 different voice effects in the briefing (stage 1 and 2) the second is in Stage 3. You don't need to play the mission. :)
Just load A-Gauntlet and listen to the briefing
Let me know if this could work :hopping:

Great work there, Boost. This is the sort of work ethic we like to see -- just dive in and make a contribution on something. It's also a good starting point for more modding in the future.

ASW is a top contender for my favorite mod. If there's anything I'd like to see done, it would be finishing acts 3, 4, and 5 of that mod. (I mean, aside from BWO getting finished.) :P
Thanks a bunch for putting this together!

Thankyou for the encouragment Goober
Yes finishing acts 3, 4, and 5 would be great if momentum for the project could get started. I would love to contribute to the last ASW segment
This voice project should actually be quite straight forward once things have been laid out (yet time consuming ) since the script has already been laid out.
I was wondering if some pronounciation could be cleared up. Does anyone have the right way of saying  Aesdherians, Apesokari, Exarch Razch'Tar, Zakros, Gimel, Phylaki, Tylisos... would hate to have these said wrong every time they come up in a command or mission briefing :nono:

As I know that gimel is the name of a Hebrew letter and I am Jewish, I can confirm you gave the correct pronunciation, Col. Dekker.

Heeey, man! This is cool :D! I want to see whole ASW voice-acted like that. Final result sounds really exotic.

Shalom buddy.
