Title: FreeSpace2 Demo

I was just wondering if the FS2 demo had a completely different mission (x2) than from the FS2 campaign? Same goes for FS1. If yes, could someone please send me the mission(s)? Cheers.

Plus, should they be considered canon?

Yes, it had two new missions, which were pretty nice in my opinion; you can probably find them somewhere in the community as standalones. I did not think much about this, but you are right, and any information from them is official.

[edit] I actually have them here; let me try them out and see if I can discover anything new...

I'm not sure how many people look at last years topics. I think you are okay. And the fs1 demo (I'm almost sure) Has the first mission. Not sure if it has more though.

I remember those FS2 demo missions... played them again and again then edited them in wordpad to add more cap ships :D Then wondered why they wouldn't fire their beams, heh.

I haven't played FS1 full, but the demo had a mission where you had to protect GTC Orff from Vasudan fighters with one (?) friend...
 
FS2 demo missions aren't in full version, except in gold edition, or SOTY, that's the American version of gold edition.
 
I had not heard about FS2, but then I saw the gold edition box at the store and I went home and downloaded the demo. It was amazing, and I told my parents to buy me the full version. I got it on my birthday, to that day I played the demo only, many many times through. The demo is pretty good (full is a lot better, demo is limited, of course.:doh: ), it has some different sound effects, like beam charge-up. I like the full version sounds more, though. :)

BTW anyone notice that the Maxim looks different in the demo than it does in full game? (and also does less damage)

That's the first mission from FS1 so it isn`t exclusive to the demo.

I just remembered. The two fs2 demo missions came witht the fs2 Sci-Fi SIM of the year edition.

sorry I tryed to submit em too the VW DL date base but that damn thing just sucks it doesent let me pout it up there, note I did this 5 times.

Does anyone know how to add fred mission to the demo?  id doesn't want to recognize them no matter i do......and although this may sound silly...there is a very good reason i wanted to do this.

I don't really think the second FS2 Demo mission fits into to well with the full FS2 game.
