Feeling kinda sorta brave about this model I've been working on over the past couple of weeks, in between other projects, so I figured I'd show it off in here for some scrutinisation and criticism. It's my first (of near-finished quality) attempt at high-detail organic modelling and half-decent scene setup, but don't go easy because of that. I'm still deciding whether to go to the trouble of adding ground and a background to the scene (I'm sure I'll do it eventually should I decide to expand on this item), so ignore that deep black curtain for the moment. :)

Extra points for anyone who can remember the cartoon series :)

The cyborg lizard war rhinoceros scares me...

OMFG DINORIDERS = TEH WINRA!11111
-
OMFG! I used to watch that show when I was a kid....
-
I used to have two eps on video but I never saw it on TV.
It's called Dino-Riders and the Dipplodocus kicks ass.
-
Man I loved that series! As well as Mask and Thundercats!
-
"THUNDERCATS! HO!!!!!!!"
I still can't believe he could outrun Cheetara.
-
I remember being totaly freaked out and scared ****less every time Mom-Ra either appeared or transformed. But I couldn't stop watching! :D

Nice start - I'd suggest some more work on textures, as I always do. Can't say much more, though, since I honestly don't remember the cartoon.
-
hehe, dinoriders, I even had toys from that show when I was kid :)
-
Thanks. Textures are my worst feature, this model uses a small repeated skin texture and regular colour manipulation for everything else :D
For the record, this (http://www.toyarchive.com/DinoRiders/DinoRidersMonoclonius.html) is what I've been working from. I'm trying to get more of a feel of what they really might've looked like, rather than copying the dinosaurs directly from the cartoon or toys. Wish I knew what happened to all my toys, that Diplodocus rocked.... :(

Well, you could always use some procedural maps for the Dino's skin - it should pre fairly easy to immitate. :)

The walking trex was the best toy ever!
