~500-550 polys. 15% - 20% longer than the Hathse... however you spell that vas destroyer.
The bottom needs a little more work perhaps.
Anyway, you know the drill... ;)

very nice, only part that i don't like is the "nose", i think that with this "mesh style" a develop from front to rear would be better, i mean: large parts on front that become thin in the rear, i can't explain better what i have in mind, sorry:)

I like it. Very strange in shape with bits that seem to serve no purpose. Yep. It's definately a vasudan ship :)

Yeah, I think the big "fish tail" thing needs to go to the rear. It doesn't look good in the front.
Otherwise, this mod has potential. :nod:
EDIT: I just had an idea; instead of moving the fish tail to the rear, keep it where it is and just rotate it so that it is horizontal rather than vertical. That would make it look much better. :)

Actually, I'm quite happy with the overall design. I think I will make the front bit somewhat thicker, though.

Looks like the Even Horizon crossed with the aliens from Pitch Black. Would make a very cool evil ship that's to serve some nefarious purpose.
Sorta looks like a Vasudan Iceni.

This is a cool design! It's about time I said that about a user made Vasudan vessel.
The Repten is cool too, but it looks more like a pre-GreatWar vessel.
I like it the way it is. Well... add textures of course, but the design is great.

I would just say chop off either the top or bottom split bit, then i think it would look just about perfect.

I have a question: where's the bridge? If it's located at the top of the rear of the ship, every time they try to look front, the fishtail will be in the way.
Captain: (translated from Vasudan) All ahead full!
Helmsman: (translated from Vasudan) But sir, the big fish tail thingie is in my line of sight! The only thing I can see in front of us is our tail!
Captain: I gave you a direct order! All ahead full!
Helmsman: Aye aye, sir...
*One minute later the Vasudan destroyer inadvertently rams a ravana in the side.*
Helmsman: Um... oops.
*Big explosion ensues, leaving only, of course, the fish tail piece as debris.*
EDIT: I know I already said this (perhaps I deserve to get flamed for mentioning it twice), but I wouldn't mind seeing the fish tail made horizontal.

Edit: Would a Destroyer's bridge have viewports? Seems bad in a beam fight.

I think if the fish head tail was turned horizontal, it would make the entire ship look horrible.

Hmm. I think it would look better if the tail were the back and fat, detailed bit were the front. If anyone remembers the Galor-class Cardassian warships out of Star Trek, you'll know what I mean.

Galor's are ugly, IMO. At least, they were the last time I looked at one.

Very vasudan. However, I think the fish tail should stay in the front. Makes it look like it is definately NOT terran.

agreed, how about either taking off the top spikey bit at the front, or angling them both backwards a bit more......

Here's an idea. Add a large blister to both sides of the top fin, as if a sphere was lodged in it. I think it would make it look more alien, and it could serve as a sensor subsystem.

remove the lower section so the ship gets a flater botoom..
rotate the fins 90 degrees
then id call it Vasudan

The fins - fish tail, stays vertical. I like them that way.

As you can see, I'm attempting to make my own textures, though less successfully.
I'll add more colour later, but for the moment, the brown colours will do. I hate the 2D part.
Feel free to pass any tips 'n tricks my way.

have you tried the Hapshepsut textures? They will probably look just as good.

It looks more like a strike corvette or something though, smallish and fast with a decent array of weapons upfront.

Ryx, don't try to create your own textures for capships... the FS2 do just as good :)
BTW, I think that the texes used for Bobboau's Apep and Amit will look very cool on that Destroyer :)

:jaw: were are the good smilies when we need them? Good texturing job, brings out the detail well and should fit in nicely with the original Vasudan capships.

LOL!! I'm not that great, cause I can't convert the model... but, since Ryx is working with me in CIM, I took the liberty of asking my converter to convert the ship... then I will make it a .tbl entry and voilá!!! It will take some time though, because he is tied up for now... but don't worry :)
BTW Ryx, did you texture the model?? Your UV mapping skill is increasing by the hour :)

Whew! I absolutely LOVE it! I've noticed something: The head is a separate submodel. Seperate submodels can rotate.

it's seperate as the model is 930ish polys for the main hull.

I Dl'ed it. I think if you change the texture "TSOUPtile" something or other, to "cruisertile1", it would look more Vasudan and less Terran.
What do all of you think?

I changed that texture to an Inferno Vasudan tile for my personal copy :)

BTW, what does "Tempeth" mean anyway? Is that Ancient Egyptian? I don't think it sounds like it... :wtf:

I'm glad you like it. I got a whole book full of Greek, Eygption, and Hindu names. But most-all of the good ones are reserved for my campaign.
