Title: Community asset terms of use
Post by: xenocartographer on September 27, 2016, 10:05:08 am
Hey, I'm pretty new here (ignore the registration date...) and I've got a kinda ignorant question. I'd like to use the GTF Kulas from Blue Planet in a minicampaign, and possibly some civilian ships. I'm also a pathological worrier and don't want to piss someone off using assets I'm not supposed to. What's the policy here? No? Ask first? Just do it(TM)?

Sorry for my ignorance D:

Generally it's "use it and put credit in the appropriate place".

I know for sure that the BP team is all about letting the community have more assets to make more awesome things with. Many of BP's assets were previously released as single ships or used in some other campaign, so they did exactly what you are doing.

So yeah, use it and give credit. But doesn't hurt to ask if you are unsure. If assets have a release thread or are available for download from the links on the Wiki page, then you are good to go.

Go nuts, plus the Kulas isn't even 'from' Blue Planet, it's a community model that got used in BP!
