Title: 2 new ships

First ship:
The GTCv Atanea is a light corvette I made for the Armegedon Project. It has 17 turrets (5 beams (2 of which are anti-cap), 4 flaks, 4 lasers, and 4 missile batteries). It doesn't have any rear defenses but it does have a fighter bay (the second fully functioning fighter bay I've ever made   (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) ).

Second ship (for SM II):
The GTVRp Minotaur is a "repair ship". Unlike a support ship, it can repair hulls using a beam-like welding turret. This is kind of like the one in the colossus cutscene where you see the Vasudan talking in that welding ship.

And the textures could use some work on both ships.

I can just imagine- revised FS2 scene, the Iceni surrounded by those things, and a few other Vasudan ships- loudspeaker crackles to life:
"Admiral Bosch, you are under arrest! Surrender your ship or we will befoul your crew quarters!"
Bosh shouts into mike:
"Never! Engage jump drive!"
Strange squishing sound...
"What's that smell?"

You have some interesting concepts and pretty original work (both obvious pluses) but you need to think about adding more detail. Remember you got 800 polys to mess with if it's a fighter so go wild  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

The ships are pretty cool but that big flare on the back of the corvette definately needs to go. These are 600m plus ships after all, they shouldn't look like they have a 150m wide rocket cone sticking out the back, it just looks silly.

Unless it's a torchship with 1/3 of it's mass dedicated to a fusion drive that lets it pull 600 gees.  Too bad you can't do that in FS.   (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

mmhh.. for reapairs, a weapon with negative damage couldn't work? (I've found out that put negative numbers works about everywhere, that's funny  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) )
