LightWave can load .3ds files (which TS can export), and probably can do same with DXF, since everything else can. You're out of luck if you want textures, tho; you gotta reapply them.

.3ds? 3dstudio files? TS as in truespace? naw i tried to open an opjects thingy didnt work on normal MDL's. like the ones used in Half life. TS opens the cobs cause i had the cob converter. anyone who uses TS suggest things.......
texturing i have to read the tutorial........

Er, you have to export, most likely. As in, hit the export button on the menu. I don't remember entirely, but I know that I got POFs into 3ds format via TrueSpace before, and that that's pretty much the only way to do it.

3D Exploration can convert them to .lwo from .cob without having to re-apply the textures...

so first i must inport to .COB file. althought he textures must be reaplied... which i will do in lightwave... then use 3d exploration (where can i find this), to a .Iwo..... do what i must and reverse the process to get it into FS2? is there an easier way???

1. Convert the pof to .cob with PCS
2. Convert the textures to bmp(make sure ya put em in the same dir)
3. Use 3D Exploration to convert the cob to Lwo (it will convert the textures with it)
4. open lightwave and add object.
to go from lwo to cob:
1. use 3D Exploration again, it should convert any textures with the mesh to bmp.
2. add all turret/debris/lod stuff with TS
3. convert to pof with pcs...

3d exploartion is just another 3d imaging program that i dont have the time to DOWNLOAD or the money to buy, let alone learn another program just to convert such and such to lightwave. isnt there an EASIER way of doing this?????????????

3D exploration is used for converting 3d files of one format to another, it can be used to render, but its pretty much useless (to me anyway) for that.. All you do is open the mesh, click the save button, select the file type you want and save it. Simple as that. You can get a trial version of it.

alright cause im going all over the place to get these programs ASAP so i can start learning them. i wanna start taking advantage of these skills i got and make em better. thanks for the adivce.
