Title: Fred error
Post by: quadinhonic_II on August 10, 2002, 04:30:11 pm
I have an error which has just popped up in all 13 (13 so far) of my campaign missions. Here it is:

"Player starting wing Alpha has orders which don't match other starting wings"

I said "the hell with it" and played the mission anyways. But when I get to the briefing the mission crashes and sends me back to windows. I have tried everything I can think of. I guessing that that error is the cause of the crashing. Anyone run into this problem??

I do not want to redo the mission!  (before anyone asks)

Wipe the orders from all fighters, and re-assign them as wing orders. Also, Alpha shouldn't have any starting orders if you can possibly avoid it. Force the player to command them! :D

I doubt that error message is the cause of your crashes. I`ve had it in missions which then ran fine. But Killfrenzy is correct. If you suspect that to be the cause eliminate it by removing the initial orders and then giving them to alpha via an event at time=0 or 1

The orders it refers to are the Player Orders; the orders the player can assign to the ships, not the intial orders. The crash is most likely due to a seperate problem, probably not even the mission, but one of your installed mods.

I really should stop posting about FRED at 12 in the morning :)

Vadar's correct but like I said the crash is probably not related to that message. Change all the player orders to the same thing to get rid of it and you'll  probably still get the same crashes.

YAAAAY!! :D:D:D

And I agree with Vadar. It's hard to get an accurate test with mod-infested systems!:D
