I have an idea for HLP. You should set up a bord where you can see who is working on what (text only).
So when a modder/Fredder/what so ever is free you can contact him.
Maybe also a "to do list" of the modder/Fredder/etc with some examples.
This would make contacting others easier and people who want to start a new project can see who is availble.
Would that be possible?

i think it would work out, keeps people from being bombarded.

I think we call those Internal Forums

Lol. Poor Lars, as soon as he arrives, he tries to "advance" the system :D :p

Could really do with something like that for the coders. Unless there is one and I dont know about it. If so where is it?

Hey I am that well know at HLP???:jaw:
Back to the topic...that wasn't a joke. Wouldn't it be realy good to have such a thing?
I mean when you start something and you are searching for members you mostly haven't got an internal Forum.
Make something like this:
Person: NAME
ICQ, Email: 12345,
[email protected]
Can do: Models, FREDing
WIP: Starfighter xy
Bomber AB
Mission: Carbonatextract
Examples: www.lookhere.com
Mod fligh_around_and_shoot
Please could you do something like that? I would also be the first one in it...to make other people look at my work and see that I am the best and you should love me for beeing so good.....;7

THe problem I see with this is keeping it updated. Most people would sign on and forget about it.

It's called a 'modding resource pool' and I was designing it a few months ago. I had intended it to be integrated into each members profile, since everything on the board is scripted it should have been pretty straightforward.
Unfortunately RLâ„¢ has been getting the better of me and general moderation duties also eat into my time.
It might be workable but until I discuss it with Cobalt Starr (who's pretty much lost his net connection) nothing further can be made of it.
-
Putting it into the profile is also a way, but you lose the overall view...I think.
So at last a page with all Profiles, only the names and if he/she is free for work would be good.

I only described a bit of it. :)
The MRP would have a list of mods in the works with a description of who was working on them and how complete they were. It would also have an 'advertising space' that gave a list of what everyone needed for their projects (texturers, html'ers etc.) so a modder who wanted something to do could simply look down the list to see if anyone needed their talents.
Afterall it's simpler to have the modder find a task that he likes than to try to find someone who will like your idea. The profile integration would have been useful for those who wanted to see what a modder's skills were and examples of their work (via links) and other bits and pieces.
