The FSO Installer is a Java application. In order to run it, you'll need to install the Java Runtime (http://www.java.com/)
-
OK, but after Install Java.
What I do now ?
Dont find any file that I can open or install!
-
You then download the FSO installer (http://www.fsoinstaller.com/files/installer/FreeSpaceOpenInstaller.jar). Double-click on that file, and it'll start just like any other program. Then follow the instructions it gives you.
-
Execly that is my problem.
The FSO installer is in a jar-format. So I unzipped (hope that word exist) it.
But after that I have 4 Folder...
com
lib
META-INF
resources
and 3 text documents:
gpl-2.0
lgpl-2.1
readme
In found now instraction in the readme- or gpl-file.
What is the next step after unzip it.
Do I have to copy the file into the Freespace folder?
Or what a have to do?
The whole day i feel like a idiot. Hope my question is not too stupid.

Don't unzip the JAR file. After you install Java, just double click the JAR file. :) Good luck!
-
thx
Iam getting closer ;)
When I double click at teh JAR file. Winrar started and I get to the normal unzip view.
Even when I open the FSO.jar with java, the Java "Windows" pop up for a second and disappears while nothing happens.
Could it be that the FSO installer doesn't work on windows 10 or on Windows 84?

The FSO Installer has been tested on numerous Windows versions, including Win 10 x64, and works on all of them. Whatever is going wrong is going wrong entirely on your end alone; I am not sure how to fix your issues, but it seems to me that the first thing to do would be to make sure that java is used to open .jar files by default.

I opend it manuely and I think now it is working.
