While creating own missions I often found my self wondering: Was this Beam Turret number 8 or number 20? And i had to do a testrun just because of this everytime. :banghead:
That brings me to this little project where i want to post every Ship in FS2 (and Blue Planet, cause reasons) from every angle with the Turrets (numbers and weapontype).
I hope this will not only help me remember but also you when asking what Turret is where ;)
I start with one of my favorites: the Deimos-Class Corvette
The images are snipped from 4k resolution so i hope they will look good.
Feel free to send me feedback if something is off or you want more information (like subsystems or so).

There's also one of the lesser-known FRED keybindings: The "K" key. If you select a capship and press k, each turret will be highlighted and its name printed next to it.

:eek2: I didn't know that. Well i feel i little silly right now^^
I searched a long time for something similar but never heard of that...
Thx for the tipp.
Should i still keep going? Some ships have 60+ turrets and it can be a pain to switch through all of them to find the correct one.

I think it's definitely worthwhile.
That being said, I highly recommend you do this using imgur albums; post attachments do get purged occasionally, and once that happens, all your work will be for nought.

Attachments are deleted on a regular basis to save disk space on the server. If you want these images to be available in the future, you should upload them to imgur.com or a similar site and embed them.
I think the wiki (http://hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/FreeSpace_2-era_craft) would be a better place for these.
EDIT: Ninja'd.

Yeah, this is the sort of thing that really needs to be on the wiki.

Got it. Can i just edit the wikipage or is it best to send the images to an admin or something?
-
I'd encourage you to edit the wiki yourself, you'll just need to ask an admin to create an account for you (maybe in the site-support board or irc, or discord)

You can also download PCS 2 and open the model there. I do this when creating missions to see where a certain turret is placed. This way you can see them and edit in FRED at the same time, no need for testruns :)
