ok first attemp at a semi acurate model
face is still not detailed - and that arms are fractionally to long but its boned and animateable as seen from teh fact hes not in his modeling pose
i modeled with the joints half bent to minimse distorion when aniamting and it seem to have worked nicely
anyway here

noone ever seesm to reply anymore i think i'm going to give up posting stuff
-
Don't ever say that. It doesn't look to bad (but very yellow). The left arm looks a little screwy, but that could be the perspective. not bad.
-
no that's really good man! I know i'd never be able to do something like that! :) lol
-
Sweet model mate, 1 lil nitpick though, how far does he wanna pull his shorts up? :D
-
It's the new Oscar statue! :D
Good one KMN... it looks really good
-
yeah, it's very good
"suspicious mode on" Did you really made it? "suspicious mode off"
" runs as fast as he can "

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes i did thank you very much
if you wish i can provice you with intermittant stages of contruction infact i go take images of all the stages now
-
ok here it ina number of stages - sadly i dont have any of the very easy stages which happened to be the bicep for some reason the first one i have is the basic chest and arm- basically similar to the final one but before it was sub devided and it lacks the muscel defianition although you can see it from that angle the arms was far to thin at that point anf from above it looks anorexic but i sorted that
i also incuded the model i used as a guide you might all rmember by first attempts at character aniamtion with him jumping around with a lightsaber parts of the fianl model are from that model though basically the leg and foot was tranfered over joined togehter without the gaps them just reshaped it and attached it to the torso - i modeled only half the model then mirrored it down the middle as you can see - the body was contructied using a box modeling and sub devision - main tools use were drag points, meta sub devision, add edge tool, and extender.
the shorts were spline patches - apparently this techque can be use d for modeling the characters too btu i not tried that yet i just disocvered this technique works nicely for clothes thoughr ecently for my dancing monster which i hope you all seen
anyway

oh forgt to say also the head was copied form teh origanl base reference model and edited to try and get some shape into it but thats where i am currently stuck - my privous head had used createing curves and the extenster tool working up from small details to the whole thing not taking a box and making ti look right
-
I'm working on a human model ( a chick for a change ) made 100% with splines... man, try to make hands and feet with splines, it hurts... yeah, it physically hurts :D
-
good work, KMN.
nice, tight mesh and animatable without problems too! :D
texture him up! :)
-
still trying to work out the rig - i used the skeleton method for boning it but sadly when the spline gets turned into bones well the oriation isn't perfect so the legs in partecular twist instead of going striaght forward and i think i've been incredibully stupid .. jsut switching to world coordinaly should fix that ....doHHHHH!!!!!!!!
anyway as anyone who knows my modeling history can tell you texturing is my least favourite aspect of 3d
