This is a concept sword for one of my D&D characters, actually. It clocks in at a bit below 200 polys.

Shap I say... sharp

A dangerous weapon you have there... nice work. It looks a bit flat though... I guess... I dunno. But it's good nevertheless :)

You can buy 101% of everything they sell in stores on Ebay at a much cheaper price :)

yeah, anything that i can buy at stores (DVDs, books, etc.) i buy online rather.

Side-effect is most people don't sell internationally, so if you wanted to buy it i coudl buy it and ship it to you... if you want

That is so incredibly creepy...  Not the sword, but the fact that I'm dying to get that exact same blade!  Too heavy for me though.  Gonna go for the Griffon dagger instead.  ^^;;

forget those fantasy fake swords - one good hit and the tang will snap - need to get one built as they were when theyw ere using in battle - although my personal choice which i am saving up for, has afew modern bits  =) its a european styling longsword but has same cutting ability as samuri swords - does those same matt cutting test =)

anyway check this bad ass baby out

Need I point out that I doubt any of us here will ever use a sword for what it was intended for... mine at least would be for decoration - and thus having a plain one would be somewhat pointless :)

mine don't cut ( don't wanna throw them if I get kids... ), but they look good, w/o being "too much" ( if you know what I mean, if not, look at that pic a few posts above and think about it... )

I do know what you mean - but personally I think the Sword of Light I linked to isn't that bad, it's clean cut and fairly "natural" without being to much or stupidly ornate.

it might be plain but its realistic - those fancy handles and stuff are not - and while the simplicity shows it fuction well its look like a real sword is my point  and so damn cool - there is sword fighting classes near by so once i get it i will go to them and they teach you hwo to fight properly no as done in the movies - although i might have to get a blunt version too for that  but got to have  sharp version =)

I prefer this sword:
(http://store.swordforum.com/armart/pictures/s6.jpg) (http://store.swordforum.com/armart/s6.php)
A hand-forged blade, carbon steel, and accurate to history.

chances are you're going to have to sharpen the sword of light, cause it comes dull

i didn't mean use the sword to go killing people and stuff, but just between the two of us... if i'm going to have a sword on display in my room or whever:  mounted on the wall or something, why would you want it blunt?  I'd rather spend 15-20 minutes giving it a good sharpening and have it SHARP on your mantelpiece or wall or wherever!  it's just common sense!  a sword is supposed to be sharp, even if it's just a display sword!

True, but since it'd a display piece I'd never want to actually fight with it - it might damage the finish. If I wanted a fighting sword I'd go for one of the simpler ones that people have posted up here...

And I don't need weapons, I've got an SA80 BB Rifle sitting 2 metres from me - it's much more effective than its real life counterpart ;)

let see that the other way around: it's a display sword, you put it on a wall, you never move it, why would you pay extra money to make it sharp? I wouldn't, THAT is common sense. Plus I don't want my g/friend to  cut her finger while cleaning the room :D ( when I see how sharp my brother's katana are, I think it's to a point you would never draw them if there's anobody around. You've seen the movie, bodyguard? when he drops a handkerchief on his sword? well my brother's katanas do the same )

girlfriend cleaning your room??? what you think people - i'm think hes single lol =) as for paying extra - the sword i want is by defaulkt sharp and you have toa sk for blunt version so you probally pay more for the blunt one

and i want my sword to chopa  silk hankerchief  when i drop one on the blade

and stleath is right never know when you might need it and got to remember in close combat a sword is more effect than a gun

also doesn't need bullets which can run out

:)  you spelt my name wrong! :) it's "Stealth" and not "stleath" lol :)

also, this sword (and quite a few swords... most) come dulled (blunt) and you've got to sharpen it.  Cause a sword isn't "made" sharp... it's made dull, and either they have sharpen it (at extra cost to them) or you have to sharpen it.  a lot of people don't like shipping sharp swords cause it's a hazard, and shipping a sharp weapon does take more time to do.

I have a 5foot-ish long conquistador sword and a tabbard (round shield, cloth wrapped around harwood with some metal studs and a leather hand starp) hanging above me living room fireplace, actually.  Not sharp, but you could pretty much kill someone with it.  If you could lift the damn thing.

i know some swords are sold sharpened, bu dont' think swords are 'made' sharpened... cause they're not.  You don't pay more to have a dull sword, you pay more to have a sharp sword, cause they have to sharpen it
