Title: Ways to choreograph a battle between CapShips
Post by: bomb3rman on July 31, 2017, 04:47:47 am
I was wondering...

In FRED I can use beam weapons to shoot at a certain destination/ship with an SEXP...

Is there a good way to command turrets (especially mass drivers, but maybe Missiles/Torpedoes/Flaks/Lasers as well) to shoot at certain enemies or positions? I'm thinking about choreographies like old-school-sea-battles, Capships flying alongside each other etc...

Any ideas?

I suggest looking at Out with a Bang from BtA. You woudn't know it from looking at it, but the Cardinal's torpedo launchers are locked throughout the entire mission and "fired" via create-weapon.

I'm sure there are good ones in BP as well, but as far as choreographing capship movements (for broadside or whatever) look at Corrida de Toros in BtA as well.
