Title: looking for the potential Stars among us
Post by: Thor on August 13, 2002, 03:11:44 pm
I've been pimping:thepimp: Police Action and ITHOV around the forums alot, so hopefully everyone knows about it.  Police Action is nearing the time for voice actors to be found.  If you want your pretty little voice used, post a message with your e-mail, and someone on the team will get back to you.  And for those of you who think ITHOV is done, well its not.  The voices are for Police Action, but anyone who is interested in doing voices for either campaign should leave a post.  Be prepared to give us a sample.

You have to be kidding.  All of my posts, The website, and all the pimping I've been doing, and you still want more about the campaign.

Allright, here we go again.

Police Action is a small four mission campaign chronocling the events leading up the main campaign (ITHOV)  It features the 70th Blue Lions under the command of Cmd Wesley McCrae, a vetran of Capella (the famous Alpha 1)  and the escort of a vasudan representative to the General assembly, while being attacked by angery protestors.  The cast is:

Cmd McCrae(have to commit to ITHOV)
Lt. Max
Alpha 3 and Alpha 4

Beta 1

Command

Ogdoad Pilot(vasudan)

Protester Captain

Yssym: a vasudan pilot(have to commit to ITHOV)

That's all i can remember off the top of my head.

Any other questions?

just been to your site and jesus thats a lot of ads!:jaw:

I seriously suggest not having frames:nod:

One small ad banner is ok, but your havin a laugh with a pop up and 3 banners!

so get rid of the frames, infact the top frame has nothing in it but the ad banner!!??

if you need a hand with the code i can do it for you and email the page for you to upload. You can email mehere ([email protected]). If you want examples of my work then click the links in my signature.

Riven:

1.  Yes, the pop-ups, banners are extremely bad, but the its a free 100mb of space, so I'll live with it untill I get hosted here.
2.  Yeah, I'd love your help.  15th Rampage also volunteered, so the three of us will have to sit down and chat.
3.  Frames are the best I can do, butthey'll go once were hosted.  The top one was supposed tobe for banners, but...

I'll be in touch.

Frankly I'm getting a little tired of it. The less you talk about it and the more results that we see, the more interest will grow for it. I don't think anyone should pimp their campaign unless it's nearing completion or they're going to release some sort of public download of part of it or something.

Every post you make is "blah blah, ITHOV, blah blah, Police Action". You're asking for help in more than one topic. Try to keep it in the one place.

And there's nothing wrong with your website. Riven just likes criticising everything and everyone. My apologies if I have offended you (I had growing pains like this too, and I was told the same. Now that I have learned, I think it's my duty to forward this trend to others).

Cumon Pegasus V it was a bit of constructive crit and i offered my help. You cant say that what i said wasnt right and useful because what i said was true. I think the general standard of some of the smaller FS campaign websites is pretty low. This is because we all have talents in different areas. It seems though fewer people here are talented in web design than we have modellers and texturers. Making good stylish websites is hard but i did offer my assistance so surely that is a good thing.

And there's nothing wrong with your website.

Even Thor seems to know it isnt the quality he would like, no-one can say they honestly like ad banners especially when it makes his good nav bar also have a side scroll bar. I didnt say it was his fault that the web site was poor cos of the ads, i just made the statement in general and suggested improvements. What needs to replace the frames are tables. And i admit tables are one of the hardest things to grasp in HTML. That is why i offered assistance, not everyone owns dreamweaver or has the emence brain power to figure out table layouts from code (im a dreamweaver kid myself). So just because i didnt like one of your sites in the past Pegasus V because it was a bit poor especially for a web designer of your caliber doesnt mean that i want to insult everyones work.

P.S. The Combat Federation link in my signature isn't my work, here (http://freespace.virgin.net/riven.home/comfed/) is the new site i have designed to be implemented soon!

Easy boys, settle, SETTLE!  Both of you, I appreciate the crit, especially seeing how I've been doing this for a month.  Riven, I've already sent you an e-mail with my nice, shinny MSN details.  Peg, I'll try to reign in on the marketing campaign.  It does seem to have worked, as I don't think there are too many people here who don't know ITHOV exists.  As for the results, I'll say soon.

Edit:  Oh yeah, nice site Riven, not my favourite colours, but a nice site
