Post by: headdie on November 13, 2017, 07:00:53 am
Hi, we have a user on the Facebook Group who is having problems registering here and I was hoping someone could give them a hand https://www.facebook.com/groups/Hardlightproductions/permalink/10155296815763472/?comment_id=10155304951483472&notif_id=1510576241524755&notif_t=group_comment

You need a facebook account to view that link.  Can you just paste the relevant information here?

It says:

Mark Wita is having problems registering for the forums if anyone can help, the message I received from him is "I am trying to register for the forum. I'm being asked "What is the last word in that sentence", but I don't see any sentence to get the word from. Please help."

I just checked the registration page in an incognito window; this is what it looks like:

Seems something's broken there.

According to the HTML it's supposed to display a Freespace specific verification there and is looking for "FS2_3.gif" (or probably FS2_#.gif), but can't be found, so it displays nothing.

That's another folder that wasn't copied to the new server.  I copied it, but now it's telling me that it can't find an .htaccess file and it's denying access to be safe.  I don't know how to write .htaccess files.

Also got a guy on Twitter telling me he's locked out.

Rev_posix fixed it.  Turns out it wasn't an .htaccess problem, despite the misleading error message.  Should work now; I just checked the page.
