I just got the Valyrie off the Archives, and it lacks a shield icon. How would I get one?

It's already in sparky.vp. :v: left all the old FS1 shield Icons in there. Go through it with VPview, find the name and reference it in the table file. Easy :D.

I extracted it from the FS1 VP. You could download the Port and get all the interface art, models, and table files for it you could possibly need.

You could even import that crappy icon from fs1, the one that's just a sillhouette.
BTW, has anyone fixed the tbl so you can have more than 40 shield anis?

I've used those fs1 silouettes (Sorry for the spelling. English is my first, and only language, but I'm a bad speller all the same). They aren't that great, but they look weird. I thought their pallette had to be changed or something, but I accidentilay used one, and the blue icon worked. Strange, now I'm on to weapons.
They are really sucky, but I'm no artist, so I prefer to edit those .ani's to the fs2 ones.

I think we need to make some high res maps for the Valkyrie and Herc, they're great models with not so great textures

eh? The FS1 maps are more than large enough for 'em.

Yeh, I use FS1 textures in FS2 anyway, cos teh FS2 textures are smaller, and thus pixellate when stretched and applied to models.

You mean the Valkyrie icon or fs2_open?
fs2_open: Wherever Freespace2.exe is

I'm assuming you have the reg fix, then. the Fs2 maps are actually fine, when you think of the distance they're normally viewed at in the game. I've come to realise this as a result of the pain of doing 1024x1024 maps :D
