jeez... I remember when I didn't know the basics of how the  TCP/IP based global structured network, infamously known as the Internet worked. I was using Word to make a webpage, and it prompted me for my email address to put at the end of every page... I thought this was the domain name I got to choose for my site... how horrid it was when i learned the shocking truth of the InterNIC monopoly.

Anywho, unless you want to run Apache on your computer, I suggest you upload that image to a computer that is running network-friendly software (a 'server').

oooooooooooooo!

Hehe seriously if you have the Andromeda (SB not Herc in space) send my way!

To all... I have some screens that might be entertaining but don't know how to get them on the net. I uploaded to MSN but that was just a gallery YOU have to go to and search yourself (ie. it sucks!). IS there a site I can go to to make links to here?????

Don't know never done it before (be kind Please) :nervous:

If you aren't Shivans will get you in your sleep!!!
:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: (The shivan diggida squad)

Um.. I dont mean to be rude Heru but I think you should maybe go off and learn the basics of the internet first.

Email me;

[email protected]

and I'll slap it up on the server so you can display it.  You'll need it on some form of webpage to show it, you can't link to you HD (even when online - you may see it, but for the rest of us it's an invalid path on the local directory).  Beware - Geocities and quite a few free hotsres won;t allow you to link to images using the IMG tag, though.

What about attatching the file to your post? Just place the address of the file (on your HD) in the little 'Attatch file' box under the main one.

stop n00b bashing guys, laughing through each other won't help him learn.

Heru: To have  a picture appear here you need to have it uploaded to an on-line account, a web host like Geocities.com .

Now, most free hosts don't allow you to show your files on other websites (like putting an image 'here') - its called remote linking.
However, what you can do is still upload your image to your web host, then post a link here that people can copy and paste into thier address bar to access it.

So if you joined Geocities as Heru, and your image was called "yamato.jpg", you'd put
http://www.geocities.com/heru/yamato.jpg
And people would copy that into thier address bar and see your image that way. :)

Good luck And welcome aboard HLP!

*looks around to see an admin wheeling in the welcome cannon - ducks*

Go to //Photo.starblvd.net/(your registered user name)

They will host up to 6 pages (20 per page i think , tired must sleep!) quick and easy.. a little slow though.

Last time I'll mention this: see me kick Borg butt at:

Feedback appreciated. (unless you hate it!)

I'm working on the turrets but have a pivot problem with the multi part turrets. The Wave motion gun and torpedo tubes are working.

F-ing A!!!

Gak! That Yamato kicks a$$... Your having a prob with the shock cannons... Hmm that sucks. I'm trembling with anticipation... I can't wait to compare the Wave motion gun against the Macross cannon.

I don't kow if you've been there but Volition watch has a file on turrenting I think (I download all the guides and notes, but since I have no programming skills they mostly go over my head) :sigh:

Keep us Updated!!!! This sucker is going on my WANTED page!

Oh yeah if you need more SB inspiration heres the ultimate design sight for a few shows:

http://www.Shipschematics.net

They got a good SB database.

He may not understand the internet but he certainly knows how to MOD :)

Good work Heru. How about some front, side and top views from your modelling program? That would give us a better idea of what the ship looks like.
Looks damn good though. How many polys?

not until the queen  emeraldas, the SSX999 and the death shadow are done :D
Plus the arcadia needs to be converted again, it's not smoothed and the small laser turret ( the missile pod looking one in front of the bridge ) has its normals flipped.

edit: btw, heru, how big did you make the yamato? the arcadia is supposed to be 400 meters long, but in FS2, it looked really too small, 3 km made it look just the size it should be...

at Venom...

Oh now he pulls out the Arcadia and teases us again!

Still I only heard about the first showing, glad to finally see it (also going on my WANTED page!). If a TC mod is made how will they interact? Will Harlock be preying an ALL travelers, or will he be preying on Gamalon shipping lanes and you must win his trust to get by (Censored for upcomming storyline)

Still the last ship on my LM list to get is The Andromeda, it looks so cool!

Once again great job on The Yamato. Have you made any of the others? Yamato 3 looks too advanced, like a Star Wars Fish race ship, uh, the Calamari?

That sounds good. I made the yamato 1.5km and the andromeda 2km. What do think? I'm also work on the borodino. So if people think at they should be bigger it would be easy to do so before I go too far. What is the poly count for your Arcadia?

Thanks.

Title: Size matters
Post by: Star Dragon on August 21, 2002, 12:50:45 am
Oh yeah,

It was hard to tell cause there wasn't anythig else to compare Yamato to except another Yamato in the distance. LOl put a plane on the deck or better yet on top of one of the turrents an do a top down shot wit the bow and stern just within the edges!
I did that with a Veritech on the Xanthus class carrier and you can only see it on a (small) cross-section that fills the screen.

As for the Andromeda, though it's a wire-frame and not filled yet I say you got it right on! [Sweet!]

I am not familiar with the other one but seen pics of it, Looks accurate also. Is that also 2km?

More importantly, are you planning on making them available?
(oooo I'd LOVE to experiment with the dual main guns!) :shaking:

I have to ask.. Do you have a pic of the Wave motion gun in action?

Dare I ask, heru, what modelling software are you using?

I'm using Maya for modeling and Poly Trans to convert the Maya file to a TrueSpace scene file.

Its awesome. Somebody sayed station a plane. Instead of a plane, how about two nuclear missiles on deck. Like the Red Alert 2 Soviet Dreadnought.
