okay, this is stupid and all, but im curious, so there.

how many people play a musical instrument (includes singing if you ever had lessons or was _serious_ about it, and kazoo if you can be serious about that) and how well do you play?

actually i don't think it's stupid and I'm pretty curious too

I've been singing forever, have played alto saxophone for six years now and trumpet for five. I'm an okay sax player and my trumpet pretty much sucks. :D

Can play 3 or 4 chords on accoustic guitar, but never seem to find the right way to actually learn it properly.  Used to play the recorder & keyboard (badly) as part of me compulsary music classes in Secondary school..oooh... about 6 years ago.

I know the basics on a keyboard/piano and thats about it.  Most of my music knowledge lies in samples and multi-tracking.  And on the odd occation I do like to kick my feet up and compose an entire new piece from scatch... for which a keyboard sometimes comes in handy.

But thats about it.

from time to time i borrow my sisters guitar.  I can play the intro to "come as you are" by nirvana, and a few bits of some Biffy Clyro songs.
But thats it.

used to play the trumpet in band... quit in grade 10... probably still know how..
can play a few chords on a guitar too...

Piano, French Horn, and some oversized giant trumpet looking contraption they called a "Melophone"...(marching band of course)

Was a band nerd until the middle of my sophomore year in high school when I finally got to the point where I couldn't stand the band director anymore, still play the piano.

6 years piano, 3 years drums, 2 years clarinette (sp?), and ive forgotten it all now. But I can play on the little virtual keyboard on my Palm pilot!

[color=sky blue]I was a lead vocalist in a band in high school.  We were starting to get a bit of a local following then we all moved out of state to go to different colleges.  I still have all the stuff I composed and still sing sometimes but am way more into science now.[/color] :)

I play guitar and sing but not at the same time unfortunately.

i have played drums since i was 9.  at age 13 i was in my first heavy metal band.  Age 21 cut my first (and only) ep......it was on vinyl, so you can guess how long ago that was.  And i have recently hooked back with my old lead guitarist to lay some custom tracks for the Combat Federation.

Other than that i can play amazing grace on keyboards and i used to play it on bagpipes.  don't ask.

seems most people play a little guitar, know some keyboard... dj-ing...

i just realised i forgot to put my own stats up. piano forever (or since i was in, like, kindy, whichever comes first) violin for quite a while and singing; a little guitar but its dodgy.

Well, since it's an interesting thread... I've played violin since I was 6 and I'm in the school orchestra... basically that's all my musical experience, but I did play the recorder in 5th grade because it was manditory.

I have an electric guitar or three. A '68 reissue strat in that distinctive Jimi Hendrix white, a custom westbury that's a cross between a Gison SG and Les paul and my own creation that I posted on the guitar thread :)

BTW fraggle rock is OK but I can play the themes to rainbow, postman pat and Red Dwarf. Oh and the piece of music that is played when Luke returns home to find unky Owen and aunt Beru after they've been given the 'Imperial' treatment. :)

hmm, i hadnt heard that before.  i'd heard a few football chants to that tune (most notably "we hate glasgow rangers.."), but never any about irn bru.

I'v been playing violin for 8 years and i still play it like a pro.  I can play Vivaldi, Back, Mendelssin, etc...

I used to play clarinet for a little while and I can play some viola
