Post by: Pegasus V on August 18, 2002, 10:35:38 pm
I have just uploaded my latest mods onto a crappy temporary website here (http://www.geocities.com/alpha_quadrant_project/downloads.html).

This release includes:

Pherhaps with these reskins you should include the skins.
Title: Borg

Here you can see the "uber mod" (Nexus) in action... Basically it's tweaking the other relesed genre mods so they wrok together. Screen finally available.

Checkout Phoenix's Borg Cubes and Spheres as a simulated attack occurs...

Those textures need to be included. Unless you want the ship to be invisable by having no textures... in which case it will instead be... grey.

Oh, I thought invisible.pcx was included in the sparky.vp. Oh well, I'll have to add it in. Thanks. Alternatively if you don't want to redownload the mod, you can just make a small pcx image filled with green 0, 255, 0. That should work. The cloak can't hide the engine exhaust, so you'll still have the engine glow show up. This is just v1.01, so it still has the squad logo there, so I'll have to fix that too... D'oh. This mod was just a ten second job, so maybe I should take it off the download page.

i like the warmdown sound. is there any way to get it to play all the time for the start of missions? or does that need source mods?
the aten, levvy and the lilith are cool too.

Better yet put a hidden instuctor ship in and have it appear as a training message. That way you don`t need to have a message source appear on screen. You can vanish the instructor immediately and the player probably won`t even notice

make the instructor invisible to sensors and 100000km away :D

Yep. That's what I meant by hidden. :) You should use the ship vanish though to remove the flashing dot that would appear on your radar otherwise. After all we only need the instructor there for the first second. After that you can remove him before the player notices his presence.

Or you could use an enemy stealth ship. Think of my callsign...

I was making a mission last night and I started to think. I was Alpha wing of another squadron to enter the area, but of course you can't have two wings under the same name. That's when I came up with this. Name them something like 44th Alpha, or 108th Delta. It seems to fit in well in the game. I think it's much better than... Hang on, didn't they do that in one of the loop missions? With the Skulls?

To send a training message you need a ship called instructor. That's hard coded into the game (until the SCP guys hopefully remove it).
If you place the ship 100000m away it doesn`t really matter what it is, but a ptah is of course the best choice. (only cause it would annoy pegasus though) :)

Hehe. Ptah's are evil! :drevil:

Give me a Pegasus or Bakha anyday. (That's if I'm not flying a GTF Hercules Mark II.)
