Title: Is this a good deal?
Post by: penguin on August 22, 2002, 09:08:24 pm
I just got this in my inbox:
Quote
Great news: Caligari is offering exceptional savings on trueSpace4 and trueSpace5 for those of you headed back to school this fall!

You can own trueSpace4 for just $79 or get the power of trueSpace5 for only $149! Plus, we have great deals on plug-in Paks to enhance trueSpace as well.

... more stuff omitted...
Is Truespace 4 worth getting?  $79 (USD) isn't that much....  (I'd like 3DS but it's a little pricier at $3,500...)

Edit Just to clarify: I'd like to do FS modding, if that wasn't immediately obvious :)

I use TS 4.2 and I like it quite a bit, of course, I have no experience with other packages, but it really is the only proggy that you need to make models.

Edit: aside from all of the things like PCS, modelview, etc...

I use TS5.1, and if you've actually got enough for TS5, I'd say go for that over TS4. :)

I ordered TS4 (actually 4.3) last night :)

I am designing some nightstands (at my wife's "request"), and she wanted to know what they would look like, so I said, "Hey, I can get some software to show you..."  ;7 ;7

TS in general:
TS4 in particular < TS5 ;)

Its essential for FS2 modeling but really, its a nightmare at times...as someone once put it (and i cant remember who) TS was created by a monkey on spacecrack.
