Just an FYI. It's related to RT's movie code, needs some DX 8 files.
Might get penguin to show me how to tag a DX8 dev build so we can continue to work on stuff without breaking the build and requiring everyone to have the DX8 SDK for windows builds.
It WILL eventually be required, I am guessing.
Anyway, this has been a public service announcement :)
-
Methinks everyone should have DX8 anyways.
Remember guys you don't have to download it, lots of PC gamer mags have coverdisks with DX8 on it; or even better, borrow a mate's coverdisk! :D

No, no, you need the SDK to compile it, in all 169 MB of its glory. And you have to download it from the Microsoft website :(
Hopefully, you don't have dialup if you're downloading it...
-
Question:
Do you need the SDK to RUN a compiled version? Or just the standard plug-in?
-
Only the standard plug-in, if you don't plan on compiling it

Good. And thank you, BioWare, for not only giving me a 1337 RPG, but the DirectX plug-in to play the new build of FS2.
-
We'll probably CVS branch it so it remains compileable till we get it all set.

If you have developers network subscription or know someone who does, the DX8 sdk was on it in the last year or so.
