School's starting tomorrow, and I'm really going to have to crack down this year. To tell you, quite frankly, I am aweful at math, and the first quarter is make-or-break for me. So, when I get on the PC, I want it to be "Me time". So, I'm probably only going to be able to dedicate my team to the Robotech MOD, and very little at that. I'm not leaving, just going to have to limit my time a bit. I'll come back at full force later in the year, though, ok? ;)

Sounds good to me! :)

Just try to keep some kind of interest in the subject and you'll do fine.
95% of the time its the interest that makes people do badly in school, and 100% of the remaining 5% it's the teachers fault for not providing the necessary support.
-
I was never interested in maths.
Because it's boring.
-
Unkown is concentrating on schoolwork?!
*adds Unkown Target onto The List®*
Ha! My list is a registered trademark!

Trouble with math? Someone drag CP's ass in here!

Hmm, can't remember my math classes from high school. Guess it was because I was always on the back of the room sleeping with my walkman on... Figures.
* shrugs *

Ok, try your best in Math... and may the wisdom aid you ;)
-
oh come on...math boring? :wtf: Math is life! ;7
Now math classes on the other hand are pretty boring, but if you just read the stuff from a textbook or something, it is really incredible stuff. The famous mathematician Paul Erdos once said that people die when they stop doing math.
I do not really know much about the college/university system, but at least in grade school, performance is almost completely dependent on the teacher in my experience, even more so than whether or not you like the subject.
-
...nerd...
Yeah, math sucks. Especially because this year every single note might ruin my chances to beat this damn beast (school :D)

Somehow I can't see those two words coexisting on a same sentence... :D :p

Okay, change that to "famous among the mathematical community." :p :D

I think....nowadays it's almost completely dependent on the test. ;7
It's true, though.... teachers make a hell of a lot of difference. in Uni, it's lecturers, so you have to learn for yourself. that's when it tends to come down to ability IMO.
I hate maths, BTw. Bored the pants off me. As did English. And French, cos I can't do languages (at least, human ones :D)

I have taken advanced Higher maths this year. Please point and laugh at me for taking such a rediculously hard subject.
Thank you.

*you can hear his laughter slowly fade while he falls... actually the mauntains has a good echo too*

Anyone doing special functions, asymptotic analysis or fractional calculus? Those are the main fields I will be going into later on, so let's talk about them... ;7

At universities? That is good to hear.

The urge to visit this forum is getting less and less now, and I only check it now to make sure I don't miss too much. The only thing that holds me back to this community is the Robotech MOD, and the fact that this forum has become such a part of my internet life, my real life, too, in some respects.
So, I'm going to leave for awhile. I might be like Setekh, who will probably never come back. However, I won't be as famous, and will pass into obscurity. Or I may be like Kazan, who keeps coming back again and again. Only time will tell.
All I know is I will be gone for awhile, with the exception of my work on the Robotech MOD. And so, I part with this words:
Thank you, Hard Light Productions...

God speed UT!
See you at "the other" forums ;)

We'll miss you!! *Blows kisses*
