Yes, this song is from waaaaaay back in 1980, but it's perhaps the only time in all of human history where disco and techno were mixed and the result was actually awesome instead of horrifying. (Though I could do without the rythmic clapping that starts at 1:28 and lasts through the rest of the song....) :nono:

I became enthralled with that genre in late 2017; the music helped me thru a rough patch (similar to how NIN's "The Downward Spiral" helped me thru the mid-90s). Here are a few of my favorites.

Everyone should listen to this criminally underrated band. Her voice is absolutely hypnotic.

Somehow I missed this band when they were active.

...I really wish they had more physical media, though. Actually having the album is part of the joy of music ownership. I realize this is an expense many bands may have a problem with, and it is unfortunately a diminishing market, but it is one of the factors that makes me want to go out and get the music (when I have the funds, or determine that I have the funds). There's a neat art-rock band out of Germany (several, really) called Sonora Ritual - dust monument is a really cool album, but digital only is a turn-off for me. Speaking of which, here it is on bandcamp:

I think it's everything. COVID. Working at a job that makes me loath myself but not being in a position to leave. Watching good people get shafted some someone else's bad business model can get propped up for another year. The defiance even in the face of defeat and desperation and horror. That's what I get out of Rooster. And it crows that defiance so damn well!
