Oh boy I do say look at the time. It's February already and I haven't made a post yet. With that said, may the games begin with this month's theme: Red. Go out children, make daddy proud!
The rules are:
1: No HUD! (Jump nodes are ok though!)
2: Images must be presented as they would be as seen with only the FSO engine rendering the image. Remember that these entries help to show off what the engine can do for new players! So that means no after the fact photoshopping (except for cropping), and no external shader programs (reshade and the like). No lens flares, contrast shifts, colorizers, etc.
3: Max 3 entries per person!
4: Again, these screenshots are a way to promote Freespace and the FSO Engine - let's keep it in good taste.

These are some rad shots.
Wew, January passed quick... Back to work I guess? :P

That looks pretty nice o7

So much red....
Someday, I'll bring the blue. Might be a long while, though (if ever).
EDIT: I swear, I still can't get over the Rahu looking like an oversized glowbug and thinking that its red engine was really a fore-mounted ram-scoop. Every time I see the thing, I can't tell if it's going backwards or forwards. :banghead: :nono:
EDIT 2: Oh, and Colt, glad to see I could inspire you. (Even though I still can't tell if those Rahus are going forwards or backwards. :p)

Well Shivans take in the nebula with the Rahus mandibles ^^

I find this month's participation levels disturbing...
The first winner of this year's screencap contest is MatththeGeek for this beautiful nebula shot:

Time to move on to March!
