It seems BBI weren't quite done with the HW: Shipbreakers idea (kind of).
-
That ship design, tho...
So, basically Space Engineers but in reverse? Maybe with a storyline? Like something to do when just breaking gets boring? Could be interesting!
-
Looks interesting, lots of story telling potential there - esspecially on the slice of life-front. I dig it.
Also kinda makes me nostalgic: A few years ago, I was workingshoping an idea for a game based around the idea of "space coast guard" (you know all manner of search and rescue scenarios, with an X-Com style but fighting "the elements" rather than aliens); never got of the ground though... I don't know why that comes to mind... just musing...

I'd do that job 👍

Decided to try this. I need a better machine to run it but I like the mood and music (Firefly vibes are strong with this one). Still on the tutorial stages in career mode.
First death involved me wandering into what I thought was the airlock for my hab, only to discover it was the entrance to the processor.

Saw Scott Manley's video previewing this game.
Seems like it'd be a pretty fun game to just chill out with. I'd love a mode that turned off the timer (though I do understand why the timer's there).

What are the best steps to shortcut in the reactor removal checklist? :lol:
[edit] While my mind is on it, it will be a crime against humanity, if this game doesn't get a FreeSpace mod at some point in its life. Gotta break down some of those obsolete FS1-era Orion and Leviathan hulks. [/edit]

What are the best steps to shortcut in the reactor removal checklist? :lol:
Okay, so your main obstacles to reactor removal are:
* The coolant pipe
* The fuel pipe
* The floor
* The reactor housing
Now, if you want to speedrun things, you can start off by defusing the coolant line. You can do that either by shutting down the ECU (remove front panel, remove small fuel canisters, if fog dissipates, ECU is off), or by just vaporizing the connector between the ECU and the pipe.
If you have a key, you can shut off the fuel line; if you don't, you need to purge the fuel from the thrusters (this may cause explosions, so be quick about it: As soon as all 3 lines are purged, all fires should stop).
Then you cut the floor in front of the reactor with the splitsaw to have a clear shot for pulling the reactor out. Tether it to the barge, and you're done-- unless the barge refuses to register the reactor being delivered, in which case you need to pull off 3 panels and then pull the reactor out of the housing.
(Personally, I'm fine with taking 3 or 4 shifts to get a gecko fully dismantled; The reactor alone pays for all of it, and as you move up the ranks, your running costs decrease drastically once you are able to purchase your equipment)

This feels like a bit of me. Love a good sequenced safety plan. But the naughty little Sapper side of me will one hundred percent go full bore wide angle cutting beam (if that's a thing :nervous:) from the middle of a ship.

I had no idea this existed. Just a heads up - it's currently 20% off on Steam. Downloading now. :D
