Title: NON-WAREZ photoshop plugins
Post by: Stealth on August 27, 2002, 04:20:10 pm
this is a 2nd attempt at a thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,9670.0.html), but i'll leave the 'warez' part out.  Hmmmmph, a retired admin my ass... Thunder seems to be closing threads as much as usual.

Nonetheless, here's my original post (minus the 'illegal' part...)

what do you guys recommend as some good Photoshop plugins? (give the link too please)... not just to do with Freespace, though they would be nice too, but in general, somegood plugins

keep it legal please guys, or this thread will be closed too

Moved to where it should be - and stop being so petty, you know the rules - deal with it. And how many times do I have to repeat myself? Warez is bad, and I've still got my admin powers which I'll use should the need arise... it's a very simple way of doing things and if you think before you post you wouldn't have to deal with me at all.

And to throw things back on topic...

http://www.axionfx.com/

Those are both good.. and of course the flamingpear.com plugins - although you've got to pay for them unless you find a registration code generator (don't post links to it guys - it's just to let Stealth know that such things exist. We don't endorse them of course).

oh, and just curious, if anyone uses the KPT SkyEffects or the FP Flood plugins, when you actually open it in Photoshop, it only displays the 'effect' in half the screen... look:

see that the top half is 'white' while the plugin's only working on the bottom half... how do i make it the entire thing?  i tried dragging that line that seems to be dividing the two, but it's not working

You'll be wanting to set the plugin mode to 'composite' then.
AFAIK, there's a little box that you press with a drop-down list, and images demonstrating what happens. You'll want the one saying 'composite' with a picture of something, and a checker background. Or something similar, at least.

Or you could make a new layer if it doesn't work.

That doesn't work. Those filters fill the area with black/white, so on a new layer the colour would block out what's behind anyway. Same effect.
Of course, you probably meant make a new layer and magic wand the fill colour, so I'll just be quiet now ^_^

Actually, "**** the System" is the name of a book. Or booklet, more precisely, which served roughly the same function mine did, only for New York City instead of the Internet.

And that's right, I don't give a crap. "****" is one of the few words left in the English language that really carries any significance anymore, and it's a perfectly good word besides. Not quite as great as "testacular", but it'll do.

actually, it's used so often that it carries the least significance.

If it lacked significance to everyone, there would be no emotional reaction to it. While it still carries a strong reaction in many people, it has meaning in and of itself. If I say the word "the"- nothing. Say "nothing"- nothing. Hell, I even say "God"- out of context, nothing. Nobody gives a **** unless the idea represents a part of themselves that they're embarassed exists.
